3. What personal data we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • your name, mobile number and email address;

  • your property address or postal code, and property type (for example, landed home or commercial building);

  • electricity bill information, such as monthly usage and costs;

  • roof photos, site assessment data and other details about your property needed to design and install a system;

  • your yuu ID or yuu-registered mobile number, if you would like to receive yuu Rewards points; and

  • records of our conversations with you, such as messages and emails.

We do not need your NRIC number for an enquiry, and will only ask for official identification where it is needed for an authority or utility application or required by law.

4. How we collect it

We collect personal data when you give it to us, for example through:

  • forms on our website;

  • lead forms on Facebook and Instagram;

  • WhatsApp, phone calls, SMS and email; and

  • site visits and rooftop assessments.

5. Facebook and Instagram lead forms

If you submit a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta Platforms passes the details you enter to us so that we can contact you about your enquiry. We handle that data in line with this policy. Meta also collects and uses data under its own privacy policy, which you can read at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

6. Why we use your personal data

We use your personal data to:

  • respond to your enquiries;

  • arrange your free rooftop assessment;

  • prepare proposals and quotations;

  • design, install, commission and maintain your solar system, including warranty and after-sales support;

  • apply for approvals and grid connection on your behalf, where needed;

  • credit yuu Rewards points to you, where you have opted in;

  • keep business records and meet our legal obligations; and

  • send you marketing about our products, services and promotions, but only if you have given your consent.

7. Calls, SMS and WhatsApp messages (Do Not Call)

When you send us an enquiry, we will contact you by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email to follow up on that enquiry. We will only send you marketing messages to your Singapore phone number if you have given us clear consent, or if we have checked that your number is not listed on the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry where the PDPA requires this. You can tell us to stop marketing messages at any time (see section 12).

8. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed for the purposes above, with:

  • yuu Rewards Club and Advocado, our rewards partners, to verify your yuu membership and credit your points;

  • equipment suppliers and manufacturers, for example to register product warranties;

  • subcontractors and installers who help us carry out site works;

  • authorities and grid operators, such as SP Group and the Energy Market Authority (EMA), where needed for approvals, registration or grid connection; and

  • service providers who support our business, such as customer relationship management (CRM), cloud storage, messaging and email tools.

We may also disclose personal data where required or permitted by law.

9. Transfers outside Singapore

Some of our service providers, such as cloud storage and software providers, may store or process data outside Singapore. When this happens, we take steps to make sure your personal data receives a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA.

10. How we protect it

We use reasonable security arrangements to protect personal data, such as access controls, password-protected accounts and limiting access to staff and partners who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will act on any data breach in line with the PDPA.

11. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes it was collected for, or for legal, warranty or business reasons. For customers, this may include the life of your system’s warranty and maintenance. When we no longer need the data, we will delete it or anonymise it.

12. Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your consent to us collecting, using or sharing your personal data at any time, including for marketing, by contacting our Data Protection Officer (section 2). You can also reply “STOP” to our marketing messages. We will process your request within a reasonable time and let you know if withdrawing consent affects what we can do for you (for example, we may not be able to carry on with an assessment or installation).

13. Access and correction

You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year. You may also ask us to correct any errors. Please email our Data Protection Officer. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible. We may charge a reasonable fee for access requests, and will tell you the fee before we proceed.

14. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar tools, including analytics and advertising tools such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve our advertising. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work as well.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on our website, with the date it was last updated.

16. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Singapore.
